0.5.1 First Post Release Update


Hello Everyone!

A special thanks to all that submitted feedback and suggestions, I have collected some good ideas so far. Okay! so with this update, I have not added any new features but decided on only tackling bugs and game improvements. I have gone through it all in the video however here is a detailed look at what changed and why:

  • Enter/Exit vehicles is now key "F" - This is to help conform to standard modern controls and hopefully make it less awkward.
  • Player mouse sensitivity halved - I have been developing on a laptop and unfortunately neglected to realize trackpads have really low DPI. I will be adding a sensitivity slider for this soon.
  • Player defaulted to "sprinting" - Stamina is a thing of the past, multiple people have brought it to my attention that stamina is not really necessary.
  • Player sprint speed sped up - It's a big world, might as well run around it faster.
  • Vehicle entry is now raycast based, player can enter vehicle by looking at it and being within 8 meters - This will hopefully solve the frustrations caused by a collision based entry system, getting in a vehicle is now way less tedious.
  • Escape key now frees mouse no matter what. backspace will reset game with mouse active.
  • Fixed car rotation changing upon entry
  • Vehicle reset added to non special vehicles. press "R" to unflip. special vehicle reset coming soon.
  • Vehicle cameras are all now controllable with the mouse, press "Z" to reset orientation
  • Failsafe plane added to catch players that glitch under map. Thanks to CrispKat for the suggestion.
  • Torque rebalance for most cars. most normal cars received double torque.
  • Wheel friction rebalancing for many vehicles.

There is so much work left to do and I'm just getting started. I hope you continue with me on the path to making one epic sandbox!
